We caught the scoop a few days ago and it’s now confirmed. Smart has finally unveiled its newest mobile internet device — the Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus — which claims speeds of up to 20Mbps.
The SmartBro Rocket WiFi Plus is an upgrade to their Pocket WiFi which used to be only up to 5Mbps and in conjunction to the previously released Rocket WiFi dongle. This one has the ability to share WiFi with up to 5 devices.
It’s not yet readily available in prepaid but is now on a pre-order period for now. The one-time price for the kit is Php6,495.
The catch — Php200 per 180MB, just like the Rocket Plug-It. No UnliSurf plans. The prepaid kit comes with a free 180MB allocation.
Now that’s pretty expensive if you asked me. I think you’d easily consume 180MB in single day.

If your connection speed is 20Mbps, your maximum download speed is up to 2.5MB/sec.
180MB divided by 2.5 MB/sec = 72 seconds!!! ubos na agad Php200 mo in less than 2 minutes?

I am paying P99 for 50mb sa globe masmahal yun… but straight siya sa phone…. (ym, kik, mails) lang ginagamitan ko.. mas sulit pag time based ang charging ng fast internet.. kasi ang 50MB ko ay 3 sec lang pag ganyang speed…

180 MB for 200 php? sa canopy pa nga lang na coconsume ko sa 1 day 1.5 GB eh na 1.6 mbps lang ano pa kaya pag 20 mbps 180 MB = 4 720p music videos sa youtube = 200 pesos hahaha ang mahal

Ridiulously expensive price. Even on a Mbps connection, 180MB can be used up in less than 30 minutes.
