Sony outs 2-in-1 USB Flash Drive

In an effort to provide a storage solution that will bridge the gap between their mobile devices and computers, Sony has come up with 2-in-1 USB Flash Drive that has a Micro-USB on one end and a full-sized USB plug on the other.

Sony’s device is very similar to the PhotoFast i-FlashDrive HD Gen2 which we recently featured. Aesthetics aside, the only difference between the two is that the former is only meant for Android and PC/Mac, while the latter is more Apple-centric that has recently been upgraded to also support Android.

Sony’s new 2-in-1 USB Flash Drive are compatible with Android devices running on version 4.0.3 and up. It comes in three storage capacities; 8GB, 16GB and 32GB which will retail for USD19.99, USD29.99 and USD62.99 when it hit the shelves next month.

Honestly speaking, I think this kind of accessories is too expensive even though sony puts 2 in 1 flash drive. Well, that’s only my own opinion.

    Good alternative would be:
    Sandisk 32GB C10 Micro SD Card = around 1k
Plus Micro USB card reader from CDR King = 60 pesos. Or USB Card Reader + USB OTG Cable from CDR King = 60 pesos.

Better than paying around 2500 pesos for the 32Gb variant :)

Sony is not the first to this kind of product.. Maxell and Verbatim sells a similar product and what’s even better is they use the USB 3.0 spec.. (the micro usb though is ver 2.0)…

Quite expensive. Better wait for Sandisk, Transcend, and the rest of the gang to come up with their own versions. Hope Sony didn’t patent this….
