Just came back from 168 Mall (Divisoria) with my cousins for some last minute shopping before they go back to the province. There were several gadget shops there but one stall really fooled me with this 2nd generation iPod Nano. Took several shots with my phone camera:
From the glass shelves, it looked like the real thing but when I asked the saleslady how much it was, she replied Php1,900USD 32INR 2,745EUR 31CNY 236. Ok, that’s a dead giveway. Capacity is still at 256MB like the older imitations I saw at Makati Cinema Square last year.
The other one son the shelves had the logo and name of Apple iPod in them. There’s even the iShuffle too wrapped in them cheap green boxes. They must be selling like hotcakes still. Why would they come out with a new model imitation if it weren’t?
In Malaysia, they have rock solid iPod Nano imitations which looks, feels and plays like the real one with capacities from 1GB to 8GB (see the online store Lelong.com.my). Prices starts from RM 355 to RM 545 (Malaysia Ringgits) or $102PHP 5,986INR 8,644EUR 97CNY 742 for the 1GB and $155PHP 9,096INR 13,136EUR 148CNY 1,128 for the 8GB — high priced, high-quality imitations eh?

We have those fake iPod Nanos at the nearby mall. :) I’ve seen those in Market Market too, before the 2nd gen came out. And I remember my thesismate having the old iPod Shuffle imitation, the mp3 Shuffle. It worked as a dandy flash disk until it gave out after four months. ;)
Carlo says:
When will the fake zune come out? And also the fake MacBook?

I’d like a fake iPhone, since you can’t buy a real one!
Jaypee says:
i’d rather spend my money on somethin else than buy a fake or save money and eventually buy the genuine product. :D

carlo roxas, ramsey wants to get his phone back SOON. what u return was a fake nokia with null IMEI. it just equats that you returned nothing. mind you, breaking a written arrangement or promise (ie. i will give it on the ?nd day of the month) is a ground for estafa.
vance says:

original firware
mp3 player lkd 5101 01 sdk v3.5.37
louise_r says:
gosh..the fake looks terrible..the screen is smaller and i bet, the music quality is a big goner in this product.
id rather save money on a genuine ipod than buy a fake one, since the fakes would eventually break down after a number of months…
peace y’all :))
louise_r says:
it looks terrible and i bet the music sounds terrible too..
i’d rather save my hard earned money (or should i say, allowance?) :) for a genuine ipod than going for a fake one..those fakes are a hassle..
i’ve actually saw them a couple of times…although there are slight differences, you could tell if the product is a fake..
and oh..the prices are so low..that you wouldn’t even consider the product itself…saw one ipod with 1 gb memory that cost only P960..
:))

If you’ll find firmware please let us know. But I fix that problem by formatting the whole drive by Windows and it’s restoring all system files and setting. Also you can try to use Disk Tool provided on disk to use the low format option. It does help. But you’ll loose all your information :)
2 all
I bought 1 GB fake player for $20.00 and I did understand what am I doing so I’m fine with sound quality. Just because I use it at work and I do not see the difference between high quality sound and low quality sound. Really! When I’m home I listen only to my audio center…

Bought an almost real looking i-pod 3rd gen which was a fake. Their original counterparts felt way too different from these fakes. I just had the thought of buying it because of the size, but I just realized that i bought a knock-off when i charged it. The UI would tell it was real china. It sounds pretty much the same with my 80gb 5th gen i-pod video though. It won’t hook up with my i-tunes, won’t play mp4 vids, and just won’t show up my tv. It was a great laugh of the day, priced at 98 U.S. Dollars, it wasn’t even that cheaper compared to the original ones. But I’d rather buy a generic mp3 player than settle with fakes. Doesn’t matter if it costs 10 dollars or 390. As long as the manufacturer has the balls not to hide in fake names. Chinese electronics weren’t too bad after all.
