Apple already knew that Cisco owns the trademark for iPhone. It’s been under Cisco since way back 1996. I guess when rumors about Apple going out with their own mobile phone, Cisco made its move and released a cheap VoIP phone last quarter and used their iPhone trademark. Cisco is a $176PHP 10,329INR 14,916EUR 168CNY 1,281 billion dollar company so I don’t think this was about more money again.
Now that Cisco is bringing Apple to court, they either settle amicably and do some licensing agreement or Steve Jobs has to think of another name for the iPhone.
Why don’t we help him out and think of really creative ones (not that they don’t have enough creative people on their payroll):
Any more suggestions? *hehehe*

Whatever name, Apple knows they’ll get sued. Steve Jobs took the risk, i don’t see any alternative for the iPhone name. It’s the perfect name for it. Apple just took for, what? The lawsuit issue’s another publicity thing to boost iPhone’s popularity, they can buy the iPhone trademark for billions and earn more from their revolutionary phone.
My thoughts right now are getting iSomething.com domains, thinking what Apple would do next with their “i” brand.
hahaha!
Miguel says:
Or do you think Apple can afford to buy the trademark from Cisco? (If that is how it works.)
Whatever… as far as mobile developers are concerned, it’s the OS X Mobile/Safari Phone!

visitorj says:
I like it eh…looks so hi-tech… ano kaya sa paningin nyo?
