BIR mandates Registration Seal Badge for online businesses

Listen to article

Online sellers and digital earners now have a new rule to follow. The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requires them to show a Registration Seal Badge on their pages.

Under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 38-2026, online sellers, freelancers, vloggers, and influencers must display the badge on websites or social media. This badge proves they are registered and running a legal business.

The BIR said users no longer need to post their full Certificate of Registration. This helps protect private details like tax numbers and addresses. Online users can claim the badge at no cost through an online claim process. The BIR states that this initiative establishes trust between buyers and sellers while maintaining transparency for online business operations.
