Xiaomi is set to roll out its very first electric SUV, the YU7, at a big “Human x Car x Home” event in China on June 26. This new model is almost 5 meters long with a 3-meter wheelbase—roomy enough for families and road trips—and comes in nine bright colours.
The basic YU7 packs a single rear motor and a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, giving it an estimated 835 km range on China’s CLTC test. Xiaomi says it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under 6 seconds, which is quick for a family SUV.
For those looking for more power, the Pro and Max versions add a second motor for all-wheel drive. Together they peak at 508 kW, and the top-end Max model uses a 101.7 kWh NMC battery that can hit 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds—rivaling many sports cars.
Xiaomi hasn’t shared prices or local launch dates yet, but the June 26 reveal will also include several of the company’s latest gadgets. If you’ve been watching the EV scene, the YU7 could shake things up by bringing Xiaomi’s tech know-how and value-for-money approach to the SUV world.
