Fujifilm Drops New X100VI Compact Camera and Announces Limited Edition

Fujifilm announced their latest fixed-lens compact today, the X100VI. This sixth-generation model in the popular X100 line keeps the classic rangefinder-style design users love, now in a standard black or silver aluminum body.

Fujifilm is also releasing a limited 1934-unit edition commemorating their 90th anniversary in 2024. These special edition cameras come packaged in a unique box with engraving and extras like a leather strap.

Under the hood of both models are a 40.2MP backlit sensor and latest processor. My favorite new feature is 5-axis in-body stabilization allowing sharp low-light shots. Video also gets upgraded to 6.2K/30P recording.

The hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder remains versatile while a new “Electronic Rangefinder” mode overlays a small magnified EVF. Connectivity improves with compatibility for Fujifilm’s Camera to Cloud service Frame.io.

At $1,299 (~PHP 72k) the standard X100V isn’t cheap but remains the ultimate fixed-lens street camera. And the limited edition is a collector’s item for sure.
