LTO to issue driver’s licenses with 5-year validity starting October 10

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced that it will issue driver’s licenses with 5-year validity starting next week.

In a report by ABS-CBN, LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante said that the driver’s licenses will be issued on a staggered basis at three LTO branches in Quezon City on October 10, while other LTO offices in Metro Manila will issue it by October 14. LTO offices outside Metro Manila will have it by year end.

The new licenses though will still come in paper receipts instead of plastic cards due to its ongoing procurement issue.
