GAB signs new resolution for eSports events in the Philippines

Listen to article

The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) provided a new resolution (Resolution No. 2017-21) for eSports events in the Philippines. The said resolution was already signed last October 17, 2017.

Here’s the entire Resolution No. 2017-21:

Although it was stated in Section 3 that all persons, organizations, and entities associated with the professional eSports event should comply with all the guidelines, GAB clarified that only the ones who were included in Table 3.1 (see 2nd page) should comply with the licensing requirements. They also added that ONLY the players are required to have the drug testing (for THC and Methamphetamine only). If unable to comply with this, players won’t be able to compete in any GAB sanctioned tournaments.

The upcoming Galaxy Battles Season Two tournament, which will be held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on January 19-21, still hasn’t applied for a permit yet. Without the permit, the event will not push through. Prior to this, Valve and the Dota Pro Circuit has also cease support for the said upcoming tournament.

There’s a new social network called Gab. I thought the article was about that.
