Speedtest just released their Global Index report, a report that compares global internet speeds. The Philippines is part of this ranking and this is how we fared last month.

For the Mobile category, the Philippines average download speeds went down to 13.70 Mbps from 14.05 Mbps compared to our May index. Upload speeds, on the other hand, increased slightly to 6.07Mbps from 5.99Mbps. This brings us down to rank 100 from 97 back in May 2018.
For the Fixed broadband category, the Philippines average download speeds went up to 17.98 Mbps from 17.73 Mbps compared to our May index. Upload speeds, on the other hand, went down from 15.86 Mbps to 15.50 Mbps. This actually brought us up to rank 83 from 84 last May 2018.
The Global average for mobile download speeds is now at 23.57Mbps while global average for upload speeds are at 9.35Mbps. As for Fixed broadband global averages, download speeds are now at 45.48Mbps and upload speeds are at 22.18Mbps.

Malaysia just changed their Government with new government promised a better internet. So now their major ISP (TM) gives upgrades of 10 times faster the current speed for FREE!!
so the question now is that instead of giving threats by Mr Duterte, will he finally do something by ending this cronyism/monopoly by PLDT Globe?
