Telegram introduces a Glass-Like Liquid Design without requiring iOS 26

Listen to article

Telegram has released a new iOS update that introduces its own take on Apple’s “Liquid Glass” design, and the best part? It works even if your device isn’t running iOS 26.

The update revamps the app’s visuals with a translucent “frosted glass” look across the bottom navigation bar, keyboard, and sticker panel, complete with a refraction effect as users scroll. Telegram built this design independently, so even users on older iOS versions get to enjoy the new aesthetics.

Beyond the design overhaul, the update brings new features like comments and reactions in group calls, private notes for contacts, suggested birthdays, and customizable profile colors. AI bots also get threaded conversations and streaming responses, improving multitopic chats.

The update also refines the gifts marketplace and adds a new mini-app bug reporter, further polishing the Telegram experience for iOS users.
