Infinix GT 30 Pro vs TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G Comparison Review

Listen to article

The midrange smartphone space is flooded with options, but two standouts right now are the Infinix GT 30 Pro and TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G.

Both bring flagship-like features down to more affordable price points, but they clearly target different types of users. Whether you’re more into gaming performance or daily versatility with great cameras, this comparison review might help you figure out which one deserves your attention.

Design and Construction

Meanwhile, the TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G goes for a more refined look, opting for curved AMOLED edges and a cleaner, more elegant design. It’s even thinner and lighter at just 7.29mm and 179g, which makes it feel very sleek in hand.

The curve does introduce a bit of distortion when viewing off-angle, but it adds to the premium feel. More importantly, the Camon comes with an IP68 rating, offering stronger protection against water and dust, which is a major bonus for durability.

The GT 30 Pro feels like it’s created for gaming enthusiasts with its aggressive design and LED flair. Meanwhile, the Camon 40 Pro 5G is for those who want something that looks premium without shouting for attention. With that, I’d say both get a point this round.

Display and Multimedia

Both phones use 6.78-inch AMOLED panels with a 144Hz refresh rate, but they differ in resolution and visual character.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro goes higher with a 1.5K resolution, offering sharper detail and excellent clarity, especially noticeable when gaming or watching high-res content. Its flat panel avoids accidental touches and works great for two-handed gameplay. Brightness is also one of its strongest suits, peaking at a staggering 4,500 nits, which makes it very usable even under direct sunlight.

The Camon 40 Pro 5G isn’t far behind with its 1080p Full HD+ panel. It also refreshes at 144Hz, and while it’s slightly less sharp on paper, the visuals are still crisp with good color reproduction. Its peak brightness hits 1,600 nits, which is more than enough for outdoor use. The curved display does give it a more immersive look, but some users may prefer the flat experience of the Infinix when it comes to usability.

In the audio department, the GT 30 Pro is equipped with JBL-tuned stereo speakers. The mids and highs are crisp and well-balanced, though the bass could use more presence. Still, it’s loud enough to fill a room, and the clarity is ideal for gaming and media.

On the Camon side, you get stereo speakers enhanced by Dolby Atmos. They sound decent, but tend to be a bit quieter and less dynamic than what the Infinix delivers.

Overall, the GT 30 Pro leads in multimedia thanks to its sharper display, better outdoor visibility, and louder speaker setup. The Camon holds up well, but leans more toward elegance and style over raw sensory impact.

Camera

This is where the TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G really flexes. Its 50MP main sensor with OIS is backed by a large 1/1.56-inch sensor, and it’s tuned to deliver sharp, vibrant, and more natural-looking photos. Even its 50MP front camera comes with autofocus, which is a rarity at this price point and a big win for selfie lovers and vloggers.

The ultrawide sensor isn’t as strong in low light, but overall, it delivers a reliable photography experience that’s been validated by DXOMARK with a score of 138—enough to earn it a Smart Choice award under $600.

In comparison, the GT 30 Pro has a triple-camera setup with a 108MP main sensor and 8MP ultrawide, plus a 13MP selfie camera. While those numbers look strong on paper, there isn’t much available in terms of image quality feedback. Based on the rest of the device’s focus, it’s clear that the camera isn’t the top priority here.

If you care about photography or video content creation, the Camon 40 Pro 5G takes the upper hand with better optics, sharper front-facing performance, and more refined image processing.

Performance

Here’s where the GT 30 Pro flips the table. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate, and its AnTuTu score of around 1.43 million speaks for itself. Games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG can hit 120FPS, and it comes with certified trigger buttons built into the frame for more precise control. You also get bundled accessories like a MagCharge cooler and a magnetic case that really enhance the mobile gaming experience.

The Camon 40 Pro 5G runs on a Dimensity 7300, which is no slouch, but it doesn’t match the GT 30 Pro in raw speed or graphics power. For general use, it runs smoothly, and lighter games will do just fine. But heavier titles like Wuthering Waves or Zenless Zone Zero might not perform as consistently or at higher graphics settings.

If gaming is part of your daily routine, the GT 30 Pro is clearly built to deliver more—both in hardware and software enhancements.

OS, UI, and Apps

Both phones run Android 15 with their respective skins—XOS 15 on the Infinix GTO 30 Pro and HiOS 15 on the TECNO Camon 40 Pro.

XOS has improved over the years and offers a fairly fluid experience, with some gaming-focused enhancements and good feature support. The GT 30 Pro also comes with Gorilla Glass 7i for protection and a promise of two years of major OS updates and three years of security patches, which is great to see in this segment.

HiOS 15 is visually clean and customizable, and features like the under-display fingerprint scanner and fast face unlock work reliably on the Camon 40 Pro 5G. While it doesn’t have the extra gaming tricks of the GT 30 Pro, it feels polished and efficient for daily productivity and communication.

Neither OS feels bloated, and both offer NFC, IR blaster, and FM Radio—handy extras that add real-world value.

Connectivity and Battery Life

Battery life is strong on both devices, though with different strengths.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro packs a slightly larger 5,500mAh battery, and even with its brighter screen and gaming capabilities, it still manages around 8 hours and 48 minutes in the PCMark battery test. What really sets it apart is the charging versatility. It’s got 45W wired, 30W wireless, 10W reverse wired, and 5W reverse wireless charging along with bypass charging to reduce heat during gaming.

The TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G isn’t far behind with a 5,200mAh cell and 45W fast charging. It lacks wireless or reverse charging, which might not be a dealbreaker, but it does feel like a step behind considering its slightly better build.

For users who value battery flexibility, especially wireless and reverse options, the GT 30 Pro has a clear advantage.

Pricing and Conclusion

Now let’s talk value. The TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G is priced at PHP 12,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant and PHP 14,999 for the 12GB+256GB model.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro starts at PHP 13,999 for 8GB+256GB and goes up to PHP 15,999 for 12GB+512GB, giving you more storage and more gaming hardware for just a bit more.

In the end, it all comes down to what you want out of your phone. If you’re focused on content creation, photography, and a refined, stylish experience, the Camon 40 Pro 5G nails it with its stellar camera setup and premium design.

If you’re into mobile gaming and want a phone that can handle graphically intensive titles with the hardware to match though, the GT 30 Pro is the better fit. It’s complete with shoulder triggers, LED flair, and wireless charging for your gaming needs.
