Nokia Lumia 625 Review

Listen to article

SO, IU y Aplicaciones

lumia 625_camerablur

Hablando de aplicaciones, el Lumia 625 viene con las habituales aplicaciones Nokia WP8 como HERE Drive, HERE Maps y Nokia Xpress. Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer y Hotmail también están integrados.

lumia 625_ui3

Camera

The Lumia 625 uses the same 5 megapixel rear camera and VGA front-facing of its predecessor. We don't expect much from a camera of this caliber but it will do for photos that need to be uploaded on Facebook or Twitter.

Take a look at the sample shots below:

[fancygallery id="51" album="54"]

Video recording capabilities get an upgrade as well, from 720p/30fps quality of the Lumia 620, it can now record at 1080p/30fps. Watch the sample video below and don't forget to view it on 1080p:

Performance and Benchmarks

Running under the hood of the Lumia 625 are the dual-core Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 305 GPU, and 512MB of RAM. Performance is good for a smartphone of its kind and we found UI transitions to be smooth without any noticeable lag.

As for benchmarks, we used MultiBench 2 and PhoneMark. Take a look at the results below:

phonemark

multibench_results_625

If you like playing games, the Lumia 625 can deliver a very decent experience especially if you're just running average apps that don't demand much resources. Try to go beyond what it can provide and the small 512MB RAM will surely get in the way.

Battery Life

Powering the device is a 2,000mAh non-removable battery. This is a 700mAh jump from the 1,300mAh of the Lumia 620. It should be able to provide you enough juice to last the whole day if you're just using it for moderate calls, texts, and heavy browsing via WiFi. Turn on battery saver mode and it should provide you with some extra power depending on how you use it.

lumia 625_battery

We did our usual test by allowing to play a 1080p video on loop on Airplane mode with 50% brightness and 0% volume. The result is 15.3 hours worth of playback which is great.

Conclusion

The Nokia Lumia 625 aims to become a really great successor to the Lumia 620 with its larger and better screen, bigger battery, and faster CPU. Not to mention that it carries a solid build and sleek design that Nokia is known to deliver.

lumia 625_rear

On the downside, the small RAM and low resolution can be serious issues especially for those looking forward to play graphic intensive apps and watch videos in high-resolution. Gamers and screen resolution-demanding individuals should look away from this device.

However, the Nokia Lumia 625 has another feature up its sleeves that can compensate for its disadvantages, and that is LTE connectivity. At Php13,200 SRP, the Lumia 625 is one of the cheapest LTE-enabled smartphone you can get to date.

Nokia Lumia 625 specs:

The true filmaholic hears a song from the soundtrack and knows exactly where
it comes in during the film. The style of a well used movie

Does this have a file manager like in Android wherein you copy your movies, music, documents in SC card and you can open it directly when inserted to the phone?

Hello just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know
a few of the pictures aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why
but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same results.

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time making a decision between
BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for
something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

Sabi sa net mga 1-10% daw ung kailangan ng 1gb of ram . tsaka next year technology for smartphones pa yng 5gb.

Is this compatible with Smart and Globe’s LTE network?

Reply
DR
DRA · 13 years ago

it only supports LTE bands 800 / 1800 / 2600 so Globe only unless Smart deploys fully all of their 3 lte bands

CA
CarlosJhunie · 13 years ago

So Lumia 625 will operate in LTE bands 1800 of Globe. If I want to be in the Smart network, I should use Lumia 925 which is compatible with Smart LTE band 2100.

DR
DRA · 13 years ago

technically yes, unless smart will fully deploy all the frequencies they use so even a phone with 1800mhz can use their lte service

AM
amielDH · 12 years ago

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought Smart already uses the 1800 band for their LTE. :(

I wish they could have bumped the screen to 720p but I guess the RAM and proc may not be enough to handle. Can’t beat the LTE and battery life though!
