Procesador dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon Pro 1.7GHz

e panu naman kaya sa major update like 5.0? s3 has a better chance of getting it since its a flaghip phone…..for sp? hmm not quite sure since its in mid range category….just my opinion but lets hope for the best!!

The xperia sp is a great phone guys, do a bit more research. just because its has a dualcore processor doesnt mean its inferior to the s3 with a quadcore processor. in fact this phone might be even faster than the s3. Remember that more cores doesnt always equate to faster phones. The sony comes equipped with a more up to date s4 krait pro chipset, clocked at 1.7ghz and a more capable adreno 320 graphics chip. from what ive read, the phone can reach up to 16k in antutu and 7.8k in quadrant.

Going head to head with S3 at this price point will be a challenge for SP. Let’s see how will this fare.

If compared to S3 lte, how does it fair?

Built wise, i think this is better. But of course, specs are a different story.

THanks!

sony is so notorious for putting out phones with mediocre specs for outrageous prices; dual core for almost 20k?

Maybe, but the Sony Xperia SP sells for Php16,990 @ Widget City. Plus of course a lot of people will like that special LED notification feature.

Although I agree that the phone is pricey for 20K , the phone appears to have the ‘built quality’, that Sony is famous for. It’s not all about cores, ram, and benchmark results. The IPhone 5 has dual cores, why is it that it is still selling million units? I am not a fanboy of Sony or Apple but for 20K , I will look for other options like the Nexus 4 or Z10. I noticed that phone prices in the Phil. are higher compared to other foreign markets like US or Canada.

This will support Globe and Smart’s LTE networks (2100 Mhz). However, I don’t really recommend this. You can get the Galaxy S III LTE for 18k at Kimstore and Widget City.

You may recommend but please don’t assume everyone is on the Samsung bandwagon. A lot of other people will pay a little extra for better styling and feel of difference.

S3 LTE doesnt support LTE Band I or 2100mhz used by Globe and Smart plus Adreno 320 is way batter compared to S3’s old Mali400 GPU

Well, yes, specs wise, I’d go with S3. But not everyone is concerned with specs, some go with solidly built devices. It’s subjective really.
