Last Friday, October 26, Smart held a launch event for their iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max plans. The small, intimate gathering was held in the PLDT-Smart flagship store in BGC, and was the stage for a couple of big surprises.
To kick off our time at the event, we were able to get our hands on the iPhone Xs Max and test it out for the first time. You can watch our unboxing video if you want to see our initial impressions.
Then, the program kicked off with grandeur as PLDT-Smart endorser and the “Philippines’ Queen of Digital Infotainment” herself, Kris Aquino, arrived to unveil Smart’s big surprise, as well as give her thoughts on the company’s gesture.
In celebration of the telco’s iPhone Xs and Xs Max plans launch, 15 very lucky subscribers were given a huge surprise upgrade. These people arrived at the venue thinking they were simply going to claim their new iPhones, but were instead surprised by Kris Aquino with 512GB units of the iPhone Xs Max — a huge upgrade from the 64GB and 256GB units they had initially ordered. It didn’t just stop there though, as Smart announced that 85 other customers would also get the same upgrade, increasing the total to 100 loyal, lucky subscribers.
“What better way to launch the biggest iPhones than with a big surprise for Smart customers? It’s such an amazing experience to be part of this big moment for subscribers who came here without any hint of what Smart thoughtfully set up for them. This is just proof that being with Smart really comes with a lot of rewarding experiences,” says Kris Aquino, who was joined by other PLDT-Smart celebrity ambassadors.
The iPhone Xs and Xs Max are offered under Smart’s GigaX plans, which have a huge emphasis on data. You get 10GB more allocation for streaming videos on YouTube, iFlix, Fox+, and iWant TV.
The iPhone Xs is available at Smart for Php3,299USD 56INR 4,766EUR 54CNY 409 per month for 24 months, while the iPhone Xs Max is available for Php3,599USD 61INR 5,199EUR 58CNY 447 per month for 24 months. Both plans include (per month) 15GB of data, including the aforementioned 10GB for streaming, unli-texts to all networks, and 60 minutes of calls to all networks. You may learn more here.
