Yesterday marks the official launch of the House of Marley in the Philippines. Established by the late Bob Marley’s 6th son and professional football player Rohan Marley, The House of Marley aims to commemorate his father’s legacy and vision of a peaceful world united by one love.
Although to this date the our world is still far from what Bob had envisioned decades back, Rohan along with his kin remained vigilant and hopeful. In their relentless effort of continuing their life-long mission of spreading his father’s message of peace, the family decided to take a slightly different approach of getting the message across through products that shares the same principles.
House of Marley products are eco-friendly by design. These products are made with various sustainable and renewable materials. The idea is to make products that are not only durable but would also give back to the nature and the people in it. In the spirit of giving back to the people, 5% of the annual income of House of Marley will be given to the 1love.org. This organization supports various charities and foundations from across the world whose aim is to promote peace and prosperity for the people in their respective communities, especially children.
There were several audio peripherals (in-ear monitors, headphones and speakers) present during the launch but not all of it is already available in our country, even in other countries. I’ve spoken to one of the House of Marley’s ambassadors and she mentioned that the reason for this is that this is just the beginning of better things to come in the future. “We’re just testing the waters for now and see how the market responds to these wonderful products†according to her. I don’t know about the other guests at the event but if I’m going to describe my experience with their audio products, BLOWN AWAY! Here are some pictures of the sound peripherals which are there during the event.
But House of Marley isn’t only offering sound gears; they also make bags which are also made of recycled and renewable materials. Their bags come in different shapes and sizes and will be available in the last quarter of this year according to the distributor. Here are some pictures of those bags.
Of all the products showcased during the event, there are only 3 items currently being sold in our country through its exclusive distributor JERM Marketing. These items are available at S&R Membership shopping, Anson’s appliance, Reuse, PowerBooks, Select National Bookstore branches, Duty Free. The brand was an immediate hit as the first batch of items shipped earlier this year was sold out in a short period of time.
You can find out more about the brand behind these amazing products, their mission and how you can be part of the global movement to spread the message of hope, peace and love at www.thehouseofmarley.com. You can also contribute to charities and organizations by going to www.1love.org. It doesn’t have to be a monetary contribution; just by sharing it on your SNS you’re already doing the foundation and the people it supports a big favor. We can change the world in our own little ways, do your part now.
