With everything being online these days, wearing a smart band or watch helps you get to your phone’s stuff without hassle. That means checking notifications, staying fit, and even finding your phone if it goes missing.

Enter the vivo Watch GT, the company’s newest addition to its wearable selections. So, how does it handle all these tasks in your everyday life? Let’s find out.
Design and Construction
The vivo Watch GT we have here for our review is in this Summer Black colorway that’s basically a black soft rubber band. There is also a Cloud White model with a white leather band. The watch weighs around 33 grams, making it feel light and snug on my wrist.
This is vivo’s first square design for their watches too. You get a 46mm watch that has a 2.5D large curved surface while having a matte aluminum alloy frame. There is also a stainless steel crown that’s similar to Rolex watches. It has a 2ATM rating for water resistance 20m under water. No IP rating has been stated here by the company.

With my time with the watch, I have yet to see any fingerprint smudges on the screen or around the watch.
The crown on the side of the watch also functions as a button. This can take you to the menu of the device while the lower button is a shortcut to the Exercise app in the watch.

Overall, it is a clean and minimalistic watch with a premium finish that both men and women can showcase their style with. If ever you don’t vibe with the straps of the watch, they are removable and can be customized to square watch straps. I also want to point out that the Watch S2’s straps are removable so users can customize the watch or buy the other colorway’s straps.
Display and Audio
With the vivo Watch GT, you get a 1.85-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 450 x 390 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate.

Navigating around the watch is smooth and I never had a problem with how bright it is. Whether I’m indoors and most especially outdoors, the vivo Watch GT is able to provide decent brightness in any scenario you are in.
The vivo Watch GT is able to answer phone calls and talk through the watch. This only applies to phone numbers and not third party apps like Messenger or Viber so you can’t use the watch to answer calls there.

When we tried out the microphone quality of the vivo Watch GT, we found the audio to be a bit distorted and glitchy. I’d rather rely on my own phone when it comes to calls. Despite you looking like an agent in one of those spy movies, the results it provides aren’t the best.
This means my hand has to be near my face and the watch’s right side is closer to my mouth (which I assume is where the microphone is).

For the watch’s volume though, it’s quite loud for something that’s on your wrist so as long as it isn’t too noisy around you, you would most likely hear whoever you’re on call with. It also comes with a ringtone that can be silenced if you don’t want to hear it.
Another thing to point out is that you can actually store some of your local music in your phone to the vivo Watch GT. You can choose to let the music play out through the loudspeaker or use your Bluetooth earphones that are connected to your phone.

I probably won’t use the local music option for the watch as it drains the battery a bit more and I’d prefer to use a music streaming service like Spotify or YouTube Music. It is nice to know that the feature exists nonetheless especially if you don’t have your phone with you and want to hear some tunes.
OS, Apps and UI
The vivo Watch GT is on the company’s proprietary OS called vivo BlueOS. The watch is very responsive, registering each swipe done on the screen.

The companion app for the watch is the vivo Health app which is used for other wearables that vivo offers. There are times where the watch will tell me that it is not connected to my phone and that I would need to sign in once more.
Nonetheless, it still is able to get notifications and reply to messages too as long as it is texts and not from social media apps. This is also noting that the vivo Health app is running in the background of my device without me exiting it so that’s something to note.

There are over 100+ Sport Modes with various types of pro sports models, a heart rate, stress level, blood oxygen monitoring, and 24-hour sleep and activity monitoring. It also has accurate menstrual tracking which is useful for my ladies reading this review.

There is also a fitness course based on four tailored mini goals which are steps, calories, standing activities, and moderate-to-high intensity exercise, It can even notify you if you have been sitting too long to encourage the user to move.
I really appreciated the monitoring as I do often forget to move around and stay in the same sitting position whenever I am engaged in work or any other activity so kudos to the vivo Watch GT for that.

If ever you get bored too, the watch comes with five different games that you can play with. Some of the games even utilize the device’s crown to play.

Connectivity and Battery Life
The vivo Watch GT comes with Bluetooth 5.3. Surprisingly, there’s an NFC Access Card here which the company has said that it is the only one in its price range. There’s also a GPS built in here to pinpoint your running route.

Running the vivo Watch GT is a 480mAh battery. vivo states that the Watch GT can last up to 21 days in regular mode, being able to last three weeks in a single charge. With all the time I’ve spent with the watch, the battery doesn’t drain fast at all. I only needed to charge it once and that was days after opening it out of the box

Once the watch is done charging, your phone gets notified too when it’s full. This means you can be sure when it’s ready to go without needing to check it repeatedly.
Final Thoughts and Pricing
The vivo Watch GT is a great entry to smartwatches for anyone who is considering buying one. You get notified of your applications almost the same time as your phone gets the ping and the battery doesn’t drain too fast at all while you use it..
When it comes to price, the vivo Watch GT has an SRP of PHP 7,599 for the soft rubber Summer Black variant, while the leather Cloud White version has an SRP tag of PHP 8,099.

This is a pretty steep price for a smart watch in my opinion, but you are getting a device that is capable of tracking multiple things especially for those who exercise regularly. vivo users will appreciate the watch more to go with their ecosystem of their device.
