0:00Last month we reviewed the Vivo V70 and
0:02saw how capable it was in photography,
0:04battery life, and overall style. But now
0:07Vivo is back with another contender in
0:09the series, the Vivo V70 FE. So the big
0:13question is, what exactly should you
0:15expect from this one? Sup peeps, early
0:17figure tech and today we’re taking a
0:18closer look at Vivo’s latest mid-range
0:20offering. This is the Vivo V70 FE and
0:24after spending time with it, there’s
0:25actually a lot to talk about. So without
0:27dragging this intro any longer, let’s
0:29get right into the review.
0:32>> [music]
0:37>> Starting with the design, the Vivo V70
0:40FE clearly takes a different approach
0:41compared to the regular V70. It doesn’t
0:44really resemble the V70 and even when
0:46compared to the older V60 lineup, it
0:48still feels like it has its own
0:50identity. If anything, it reminds me
0:52more of the Vivo V50 Lite, especially
0:54when you look at the camera module. The
0:56layout feels familiar, but this one
0:58definitely looks more refined. The
0:59camera island appears cleaner, the
1:01lenses look more premium, and the
1:03improved aura light helps make the rear
1:04design more visually appealing. Now,
1:06I’ll be honest, at first glance, this
1:08doesn’t immediately give off that
1:10premium vibe, but that doesn’t mean it
1:11looks bad. In fact, it’s actually a
1:13good-looking phone and it looks pretty
1:15nice in person. The matte finish at the
1:17back paired with that subtle lighting
1:19effect around the camera area gives it a
1:21bit more personality and helps it stand
1:23out. It’s stylish enough, it feels
1:25modern, and even some of my colleagues
1:27like how it looks. Despite packing a
1:29huge 7,000 mAh battery, the phone still
1:31feels surprisingly manageable in hand.
1:33It weighs around 200 g, which is
1:35honestly impressive given the battery
1:36size. It doesn’t feel overly bulky or
1:39more importantly, it still feels solid
1:41and durable. The matte frame is a nice
1:43touch, too, especially because it
1:44doesn’t attract fingerprint smudges as
1:46easily. As for durability, Vivo includes
1:48a transparent jelly case in the box,
1:50which is always a nice to have. The
1:52phone is also rated IP68 and 69, so So,
1:55has strong protection against dust and
1:56water exposure, something you don’t
1:58always get in this segment. For buttons
2:00and ports, the left side is clean while
2:01the right side houses the volume rocker
2:03and power button. At the bottom, you get
2:05the USB-C port, SIM tray, and one
2:07speaker grill. Up top, there’s a second
2:09speaker grill along with an IR blaster.
2:11Overall, the V70 FE may not be the most
2:13premium-looking device in its class, but
2:15it’s still attractive, practical, and
2:17built well enough to feel dependable as
2:19a daily driver. Up front, the Vivo V70
2:21FE features a 6.83-in AMOLED display
2:25with a 120-Hz refresh rate. And for
2:27everyday use, it’s honestly a really
2:29enjoyable panel. Scrolling through
2:30social media, browsing, and general
2:32navigation all feel smooth and
2:34responsive. The 120-Hz refresh rate does
2:37its job well, and paired with decent
2:38haptics, the overall experience feels
2:40polished enough for the price. The
2:42display itself is flat, which I
2:44personally appreciate, and the bezels
2:46are fairly slim all around. That gives a
2:48cleaner and more modern look. In actual
2:50use, it looks vibrant and immersive.
2:52Colors are punchy, blacks are deep, and
2:55content consumption on this thing is
2:56easy to enjoy whether you’re watching
2:58videos, browsing photos, or just
3:00spending too much time doomscrolling.
3:02Brightness is also pretty decent. The
3:03panel can reach up to 1,900 nits in high
3:06brightness mode and supports HDR10+
3:08which helps with visibility outdoors and
3:11gives supported content a bit more pop.
3:13Under direct sunlight, it remains usable
3:15enough for daily use. Audio comes from a
3:17dual stereo speaker setup. For casual
3:19listening, the speakers are fine. They
3:21get loud enough for YouTube, TikTok, or
3:23even some casual gaming without
3:25headphones. That said, they do lack a
3:27bit of punch in the low end. Mids and
3:29highs are respectable, but if you’re
3:31expecting fuller, richer sound, you
3:33might find it a little underwhelming.
3:35Still, for its class, it’s decent
3:36enough. For biometrics, the phone
3:38supports both face unlock and an
3:40in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
3:42The fingerprint scanner is placed in a
3:43comfortable spot and works accurately
3:45most of the time. Though, I did notice a
3:47slight delay during unlocking. It’s not
3:49a deal-breaker, but it’s noticeable.
3:52Still, security overall is reliable.
3:54Now, for one of the Vivo V70 FE’s
3:56strongest points, the cameras. At the
3:58back, you’re getting a 200 megapixel
4:00main camera with OIS paired with an
4:03[music] 8-megapixel ultrawide. From my
4:04experience, the V70 FE clearly leans
4:07into photography side of things, and
4:09thankfully, it performs well where it
4:11matters. The main camera is the star
4:13here. Photos come out detailed, sharp,
4:15and crisp, especially in good lighting.
4:17Colors are vibrant without looking
4:19overly aggressive, and outdoor shots in
4:21particular look really good. Photos are
4:23leaning towards cooler tones. Scenery,
4:25buildings, food, or just random everyday
4:27shots, all of them come out with enough
4:29detail to feel satisfying. Zoom
4:31performance is also pretty decent. You
4:33can shoot from 1x up to 5x with
4:35respectable results. And while it can go
4:38as far as 30x, quality obviously drops
4:40at that point. Still, for casual use,
4:42it’s nice to have the option. You can
4:45also switch to 200 megapixel mode or 50
4:47megapixel mode in the default camera
4:49interface if you want to maximize the
4:51sensor. Low-light performance is
4:53generally good, though not always
4:54perfect. The phone can still produce
4:56usable and sometimes even impressive
4:58shots at night, but there are moments
5:00where you’ll need to be a little more
5:01careful with framing and composition to
5:04get the best result. It’s capable, but
5:06consistency could still be better in
5:08darker scenes. [music] The 50-megapixel
5:10selfie camera is another strong point.
5:12Selfies look sharp, skin tones appear
5:14natural, and the overall output is very
5:17social media friendly. It also supports
5:180.8 to 2x zoom, which is nice for group
5:21shots or tighter framing. If you like
5:23taking selfies, this phone definitely
5:25holds up well. The 8-megapixel
5:27ultrawide, on the other hand, is just
5:28okay. It’s usable for casual shots in
5:30wider framing, but it’s noticeably
5:32weaker than the main sensor. Dynamic
5:35range and overall details aren’t as
5:37strong, which is pretty expected in this
5:39price range. Portrait mode also performs
5:41well, even when the subject is a bit
5:42farther away, the phone can still retain
5:44decent detail and subject separation.
5:46Vivo also throws in a bunch of AI camera
5:48features, including seasonal filters and
5:51editing tools that are built right into
5:52the camera and gallery apps. If you like
5:54experimenting with mobile photography,
5:56there’s plenty to play around with here.
5:58For video, the rear camera supports 4K
6:00at 30 frames per second with
6:01stabilization, as well as 1080p at 30
6:04frames per second or 60 frames per
6:06second.
6:36Video quality is good in daylight and
6:38still respectable in low-light. The aura
6:40light can also brighten up scenes when
6:42needed. The front camera supports 4K at
6:4430 frames per second, too. Though,
6:46enabling stabilization limits it to
6:481080p at 30 frames per second. Yo,
6:50peeps. Early figure tech. Right now
6:52we’re using the front-facing camera of
6:53the Vivo V70 FE and it’s shooting at 4K
6:56at 30 frames per second. So, this is the
6:58sample video with and tell us your
7:00thoughts about the camera and the audio
7:02quality of this phone. So, yeah.
7:04Overall, the camera system is one of the
7:06V70 FE’s better features. The main and
7:09selfie camera are definitely the
7:10highlights and while the ultra-wide is
7:12only average, the overall camera
7:14experience is still strong for this
7:16segment. Under the hood, the Vivo V70 FE
7:19is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7360
7:21Turbo. Paired with 8 gig of RAM, 8 gig
7:24of extended RAM, and 256 gig of storage
7:27on our review unit. In daily use,
7:29performance is solid. The phone handles
7:31the basics really well. Messaging,
7:33browsing, multitasking, social media,
7:35video streaming, and productivity apps
7:38all run smoothly. App launches are
7:40quick, switching between apps feels
7:42stable, and overall responsiveness is
7:44good enough to make the phone feel
7:45reliable as a daily driver. In
7:47benchmarks, it scored nearly 1 million
7:49points in AnTuTu version 11, which is a
7:51respectable result for its category.
7:53[music] Gaming is decent, but this is
7:55not a hardcore gaming phone. It can
7:57handle light to moderately demanding
7:59titles without major issues, but once
8:01you jump into heavier games like Genshin
8:03Impact or Wuthering Waves, performance
8:06starts to dip over time. It’s still
8:08playable, but you’ll definitely want to
8:10lower graphic settings if you want
8:11smoother gameplay. Thermals are
8:13manageable. The phone does warm up
8:15fairly quickly during heavier gaming
8:17sessions, especially in more demanding
8:19titles, but it never became too
8:21uncomfortable to hold. So, while it’s
8:22not built for mass out gaming, for
8:24everyday users or even casual gamers,
8:26performance here is more than enough.
8:28The V70 FE runs Origin OS 6 based on
8:31Android 16, and Vivo is promising 4
8:34years of Android updates plus 6 years of
8:36security patches, which is a very solid
8:38software commitment for this segment.
8:40Origin OS 6 is packed with
8:41customization. You can tweak the lock
8:43screen, adjust animations, customize
8:46fingerprint and charging effects, and
8:47choose between different control center
8:49layouts. There’s also Origin Island,
8:51Vivo’s take on dynamic notifications,
8:54though support is still somewhat
8:55limited. The UI itself feels smooth and
8:58responsive in daily use, but it’s not
9:00perfect. And while the software is
9:02feature-rich, it doesn’t always feel as
9:04clean as some other Android skins. AI
9:06features are also big part of the
9:08experience. You get tools like AI erase,
9:11AI remove people, AI ultra HD. That
9:14said, the software still has some
9:15downsides. There’s noticeable bloatware.
9:17Some pre-installed apps can’t be fully
9:19removed, and you may encounter ads in
9:21search, which can be annoying. Overall,
9:24Origin OS 6 is fun, customizable, and
9:27packed with features, but it’s not the
9:29cleanest or most polished Android
9:31experience around. Now, we get to the
9:33biggest highlight of the Vivo V70 FE,
9:35battery life. This phone packs a massive
9:377,000 mA hour battery and yes, it
9:40absolutely delivers. In real world use,
9:43battery life [music] here is excellent.
9:44This thing just keeps going. Honestly,
9:46there were moments where it outlasted my
9:48energy and I’m not even mad about it.
9:50For a daily driver, this is exactly the
9:53kind of endurance you want. In our PC
9:54Mark battery test, the V70 FE lasted 24
9:58hours and 40 minutes. Those are
9:59seriously impressive numbers and easily
10:01make this one of the strongest battery
10:03performers in its category. That lines
10:05up with my real world use, too. During
10:06my time with it, I only had to charge it
10:09around three to four times over more
10:10than a week, depending on usage. When
10:12you finally do need to top up, the phone
10:15supports 90 watts wired fast charging
10:17and it took me less than an hour to
10:18fully charge. You also get the option
10:20between normal and high-speed charging,
10:22which is a nice touch. It even supports
10:24bypass charging, which is great for
10:26gaming while plugged in. For
10:27connectivity, you’re getting dual nano
10:29SIM with 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and an
10:33IR [music] blaster. One thing missing
10:35here is eSIM support, which would have
10:37been nice to have, especially at this
10:38price point. At the end of the day, the
10:40Vivo V70 FE is a phone that gets a lot
10:42of things right. It may not be the most
10:44premium-looking device in its class and
10:46it’s not exactly made for hardcore
10:48gamers, but for what it’s trying to be,
10:51>> [music]
10:51>> it delivers really well. You get a large
10:53and vibrant AMOLED display, dependable
10:55cameras, smooth everyday performance and
10:58a software experience that’s packed with
10:59features, [music] even if it’s not the
11:01cleanest. But let’s be real, the real
11:03star of the show is the battery life.
11:05That massive 7,000 mA hour battery,
11:07combined with 90 watts charging, makes
11:10the Vivo V70 FE one of the most
11:12practical and reliable daily drivers in
11:14this segment. If your priority is long
11:16battery life without sacrificing
11:18cameras, display quality and day-to-day
11:20usability, this one is very easy to
11:23recommend. If you’re interested, the
11:25Vivo V70 FE starts at 25,999
11:28pesos for the 8 gig plus 256 gig
11:31variant. There’s also a 12 gig RAM
11:33option priced at 29,999
11:35pesos. It’s available in both physical
11:38and online stores nationwide. And that’s
11:40it. What do you think of the Vivo V70
