The HUAWEI nova 14 Ultra is now official, launched in China as the leading offering for the nova 14 line. As usual, the company hasn’t officially disclosed details on its chipset.
However, a leaked report online suggest that this phone is powered by a Kirin 8020. This supports 5G connectivity and clock speeds of up to 2.29GHz. From this alone, it already looks better compared to the nova 13 Pro which was locked in 4G.
One of the key specs for the device is its display. It features a 6.81-inch LTPO 3.0 OLED screen, which is the latest for this technology. It’s curved on all four corners and peaks at a whopping 5,500 nits of brightness with Kunlun glass protection.
On top of the display, there’s a pill-shaped notch housing a 50-megapixel selfie camera. This is paired with a dedicated 8-megapixel telephoto with 2x zoom.
At the back, it’s equipped with a triple-rear camera setup complemented by a dedicated spectral sensor. This includes a 50-megapixel main with OIS and variable aperture (f/1.4-f/4.0), a 50-megapixel telephoto (3.7x zoom), and 13-megapixel ultrawide.
It packs a large 5,500mAh silicon-carbon battery as well. The phone also supports 100W of fast charging support via USB Type-C and 5W of reverse wired charging.
For connectivity, it offers two-way satellite connectivity that works exclusively in China. Other features include its stereo speakers and IP68/69 rating.
Oddly enough, the RAM capacity for the device wasn’t revealed. However, it will have 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. These are priced at CNY 4,199 (~PHP 32,000), CNY 4,499 (~PHP 34,000), and CNY 4,999 (~PHP 39,000).
