How can Makatizens apply for the PHP 5K financial assistance

The local government unit of Makati City recently announced the MAKA-tulong P5K for 500K, a financial assistance program for Makati residents. Qualified beneficiaries will each receive PHP 5,000. Here’s how Makatizens can apply.

What is the the Maka-tulong P5K for 500K?

Under the economic relief program of Makati City, its local government unit will disburse PHP 5,000 worth of cash aid to each Makati residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure the health and safety of the recipients, the financial assistance will be disbursed through their respective Makatizen e-wallet accounts powered by GCash. Staff from the Makati LGU will help those beneficiaries who don’t have GCash accounts to open their own. The total aid of the program amounts to PHP 2.7 billion.

Who are the eligible beneficiaries?

Qualified beneficiaries should be at least 18 years old who is a resident of the following locations:
• within the territory of Makati City or
• in the relocation areas provided by the Makati City Government in Calauan, Laguna and San Jose, Bulacan

Applicants need to be either a registered Makatizen cardholder, Yellow cardholder under the MHP, or voter in Makati City.

Since the financial assistance is on an individual basis, households may get as much as PHP 25,000 depending on the number of qualified applicants for the program.

How to apply?

Existing Makatizen cardholders do not need to apply for the program. The PHP 5,000 cash aid will be automatically credited to their Makatizen e-wallet account. However, those who do not yet have their Makatizen Card may choose among the following options:

• Using the Makatizen mobile app
Step 1: Download and open the Makatizen App. (Download: iOS | Google Play)
Step 2: Click the MAKA-tulong icon.
Step 3: Fill-up the Makatizen Card application form and send a picture copy of your valid government-issued ID.

• Using the web portal of the MAKA-tulong P5K for 500K Program
Step 1: Go to this website.
Step 2: Click the Makatizen Economic Relief Program button.
Step 3: Fill-up the Makatizen Card application form and send a clear copy or scanned image of your valid government-issued ID.

• Submit the application form to the Barangay Official or Makati Action Center personnel
Barangay personnel and staff from the Makati Action Center (MAC) will distribute application forms to each household in Makati City. Fill-up the forms, attach it with a copy of your valid government-issued ID, and submit it to either of the following: barangay hall, a barangay personnel, or a MAC officer.

Some barangays like Sanlo Village may pick up your documents from your home. You may also send the digital version of the form via makatulong5kPgmail.com.

How long should you wait?

The PHP 5,000 cash aid for existing Makatizen cardholders will be credited on their e-wallet accounts on or before May 15. 2020. For applicants who do not have Makatizen cards but submitted their complete application form online (via Makatizen App or Web portal), the amount shall be credited to their GCash account within 6 working days from the day they submitted. Meanwhile, those who submitted their application through the barangay or MAC staff will receive the PHP 5,000 subsidy after 15 working days.

Qualified beneficiaries may withdraw the PHP 5,000 financial assistance via GCash Cash In/Cash Out agents.

If you opt to cash out the PHP 5,000, you must present the text message confirming the remittance of the PHP 5,000 to your Makatizen eWallet, and present the same government-issued ID that you indicated in the application form. Failure of presenting the requirements will not allow grantees to cash-out.

The financial assistance may be used to buy food and other products in the e-commerce services of the Makatizen App. Beneficiaries may also pay bills or remit money to relatives in the provinces through the GCash app.

To prevent the amount from expiring on the GCash platform, recipients are encouraged to use the PHP 5,000 cash assistance, partially or whole, for transactions within 30 days it was credited to your account.

    Good afternoon…
    naka-pag renew na po ako ngaun ng MAKATIZEN card ko dahil expired na po ito…
    pero hanggang ngaun wala pa rin po akong natatanggap na cinasabi nu na 5k
    MAKATULONG…ilang renewal po ba ang kailangan bago maka-kuha ng 5k.
