Last year, the demand for laptops skyrocketed as everyone was forced to work, study, and communicate from the comfort of their own homes for the new normal. Competition between Intel and AMD intensified last 2020, with AMD releasing more powerful CPUs at lower prices. And as they release new devices this year, more laptops with powerful hardware at more affordable prices became available. In this list, we list down the best laptops under PHP 50K for 2020 that are still worth investing this 2021.

Lenovo IdeaPad S340
Are you looking for a larger SSD storage, the latest processor, and a slim form factor? We have the Lenovo S340 that features an Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX230 2GB graphics, 4GB of RAM, 512GB SSD (no HDD), a 14-inch HD display (TN panel), and Windows 10.

ASUS VivoBook S14 (M433)
The ASUS VivoBook S14 comes in two options: a Ryzen 5 and a Ryzen 7 variant, both of which costs under PHP 50k. Those of you who don’t need a lot of CPU horsepower may want to opt for the Ryzen 5 variant, while those that need the additional power may want to opt for the Ryzen 7 variant. Other features include a 14-inch IPS display, a Ryzen 5 or 7 processor with integrated Vega graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
The Ryzen 7 variant is priced at PHP 44,995, while the Ryzen 5 model is priced at PHP 39,995.
Acer Swift 3
This is similar to the VivoBook S14, which features a 14-inch IPS display, a Ryzen 5 4500U processor with Integrated Vega Graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD but at a more affordable price. Acer Swift 3 is available in Acer’s online store for PHP 37,999.
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3
There are two choices for the IdeaPad Slim 3 – the AMD variant and the Intel variant. However, we will be recommending the AMD option for this model, as it features twice the amount of cores for less price. It features a 15.6-inch FHD display, a Ryzen 7 4700U processor with Integrated Vega Graphics, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage, and a 1TB HDD.
It should be available on Lenovo’s Facebook page for PHP 39,995. However, if you prefer the Intel variant more, it’s available for PHP 49,995 and features a 15.6-inch Full HD display, an Intel Core i7-10510U, an NVIDIA MX330, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB PCIe SSD.
Huawei MateBook D14
Huawei MateBook D14 has a 14-inch FullView IPS display with Full HD resolution and accurate colors. It also boasts a wide 178-degree viewing angle and thin bezels measuring 4.8mm. Also, the display can be tilted up to 180-degrees thanks to its special hinge.
It is a very capable notebook for its price at PHP 42,990 for the Ryzen 7 3700U model, Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD. It’s better than the MateBook D15 (and slightly more expensive, by the way) and still offers exclusive features that will benefit Huawei mobile users.
MSI Modern 14 A10M-695PH
The MSI Modern 14 A10M-695PH is powered with a 10th Generation Intel Core i3 10110U processor. It has a 14-inch FHD display with 100% sRGB color coverage. Onboard is a 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 512 GB of NVME PCIe Gen3 SSD, and an integrated graphics card. In terms of connectivity, the MSI Modern 14 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and features a memory card reader, HDMI port, 2 USB Type-C ports, and 2 USB Type-A ports.
The MSI Modern 14 A10M-695PH model is priced at PHP 39,995. They also offer Intel Core i7-10210U ( MSI Modern 14 A10M-493PH) processor, which will cost you PHP 50,995.
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i
If your workload requires both CPU and GPU power, then the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i may be the one for you. It can be purchased with either a 14- or 15.6-inch FHD display, an Intel Core i5-1035G1, an NVIDIA MX350 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage.
You can get this for the price of PHP 49,995.
ASUS TUF Gaming A15
If you’re looking for a laptop that can serve you to work and play, then the best option would be the TUF Gaming A15. It comes with a 15.6-inch IPS display running at 144Hz, an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H, an NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage.
It may be a little over budget, costing PHP 51,995, the performance gain you get for spending the extra PHP 1,995 is worth it.
