What screen protector should you get for your smartphone?

It is always exciting having to have a new smartphone in your hand. However, that excitement can be short-lived once you start seeing scratches on the screen. If you want to prevent that from happening, you’ll need to purchase a screen protector. Aside from the usual plastic film, what else is out there? Let us help you with that.

Tempered Glass

This is the go-to option for phone screen protection due to its sturdier build compared to its other plastic counterparts. Plus, it acts as the screen’s first line of defense in the event you accidentally drop your device or gets in contact with other hard objects. Just note that you may have to clean it more often than others. There are different types of tempered glass, though, as you will notice below.

Anti-blue light Tempered Glass

Here we have a variant of the tempered glass. Aside from its glass characteristics, this one protects its users from harmful blue rays to reduce eye-strain. Hooray for night owls that binge-watch Netflix series late at night in the dark.

Mirror Tempered Glass

This variant is a blast from the past because these were much more popular on older models. However, this doesn’t mean the mirrored option isn’t available. Aside from tempered glass properties, you can have a handy mirror for a quick beauty check before an interview or date, saving time compared to launching your phone’s front camera. Plus, thieves who dare take this phone from you can have a good look at the kind of person they have become.

Privacy Screen Protector

If you are a person who wants to keep their data from prying eyes when using your phone in a public setting like in a bus, then this is the screen for you. The screen protector uses a micro louver filter that limits viewing angles from 90-degrees to 30-degrees, which means you can keep your memes to yourself. However, due to its dim filter, brightness may become an issue. But hey, at least you don’t need to worry about fingerprint marks when you have this.

Anti-Glare Tempered Glass

As the name suggests, this type of screen protection eliminates glare and reflection on your phone’s screen coming from the sun or other strong light sources. Aside from its anti-scratch properties, it also repels fingerprints due to its matte finish. The only issue is that it can also reduce the clarity of the screen. This screen protector is recommended if you always use your phone outdoors.

Nano Liquid

Finally, we have a liquid-type screen protector. Protection with only 2-3 droplets of nano liquid technology and voilà, you got yourself phone protection. However, take note that it may save your screen from light scratches but not from hard and heavy scratches that your keys can inflict while it’s in your pocket. It is sleek and clean, but when your phone does get scratched, it’ll take a bit of effort to replace it again.

So which should you get?

It all comes down to preference. Most phones come with a plastic screen protector, but having longer-lasting protection can save you money in the long run. You can opt for the cheap ones or the more expensive ones, depending on your budget. What’s important is that the screen is protected.

How about you guys, what screen protector do you prefer? Let us know in the comments below.
