Power banks are very common nowadays and there are plenty to choose from depending on your needs. What separates these power banks though are capacity, price, and features. In the case of the Promate BoltQC, it boasts a 9000mAh capacity with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. Check out our hands-on below.
The Promate BoltQC looks like your typical power bank – small, brick-like, and hefty. It has a cool metal body in matte gold paint job with plastic top and bottom. Placed on the front are four LED power indicators as well as brand’s printed logo and Quick Charge 3.0 branding.
Right up top are two USB output ports – one is a regular USB port with a 2.4A output while the other is the Quick Charge 3.0 port for Snapdragon-powered devices that support the said feature. Also found here is the microUSB input port for charging the power bank, and the multi-function button.
When it comes to build quality, the BoltQC is very well-made. The paint job and material used make it look like a gold brick which is a good partner to premium smartphones. Although we suggest storing it separately from your precious devices as it is solid enough to make a dent or crack glass.
As for the price, it costs Php1,995USD 34INR 2,882EUR 32CNY 248 SRP but is now down to Php1,495USD 25INR 2,160EUR 24CNY 186 until January 5. For comparison, the new ASUS ZenPower Pro costs Php1,295USD 22INR 1,871EUR 21CNY 161 with 10050mAh capacity, Quick Charge 2.0, and built-in torch light.
The Promate products are available at the following Promate stores: SM North EDSA Annex, SM Clark, Ayala Cebu, Robinsons Place Ermita, Silicon Valley Stores nationwide, and Lazada Promate Store.
