Ayaneo is launching the Pocket Play soon

Ayaneo is stepping into the smartphone world with a bold throwback. Its upcoming Pocket Play brings back the nostalgic vibe of the 2011 Xperia Play, thanks to a sleek slide-out gaming controller. While Ayaneo hasn’t revealed specs or pricing yet, the device already looks polished and premium based on early images.

Once the controller slides out, you’ll find a D-pad, ABXY buttons, and two touchpads acting as joysticks, great for modern mobile games. It also includes L1/L2 and R1/R2 shoulder buttons, dual rear cameras, stereo speakers, and a USB-C port for everyday use. The Pocket Play comes in black and white and is expected to run on Android. Ayaneo currently lists it as “coming soon” on its Kickstarter page.
