Listen to article

In a press conference in Malacañang earlier today, both the Tourism Department and the DICT answered questions about the approved “National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) 2023 to 2028“.

One of the questions that thrown to DICT Sec. Ivan Joh n UY was about the slow processing of tourist visas in Philippine consular across the globe. Sec. Uy says the DICT will cooperate with several agencies for the deployment of an e-visa system. No further details were revealed about this and when it will be deployed. He added though that DICT will be dealing with existing companies that provide such services in other regions so the deployment and operation will be simple and easily integrated with the current system.

The DICT Secretary also revealed that they have Free WiFi connectivity on 36 out of 94 target tourism locations across the country to support connectivity or access to the internet, especially among travelers who also vlog about their experience.
