Listen to article

Xiaomi is first out of the gate with a stable Android 16 update, beating every non-Google brand to the punch. Rolled out globally this July, the update ships with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.3, blending Android 16’s core upgrades with a more fluid and responsive interface.

Leading the charge is the Xiaomi 15, followed by the 14T Pro. While no official roadmap is out yet, expect the brand’s flagship lineup to get first dibs, then trickle down to mid-range and budget devices.

Android 16 for Xiaomi doesn’t drastically change the UI, but it improves system performance, transitions, and memory efficiency. Users can also expect tighter privacy controls and Google’s new Privacy Sandbox baked in.

A massive list of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices is expected to join the Android 16 wave. Just don’t forget—it’s still unofficial, so final eligibility may vary. Stay tuned for Xiaomi’s formal announcement.
