Along with the MateBook 16s 2022, Huawei also launched the MateBook D 16 2022. It offers a 16-inch screen, 12th-gen Intel Core processor, and 60Wh battery. Read our hands-on below.
The MateBook D 16, like the MateBook 16s, features a 16-inch screen but with a lower resolution at 1920 x 1200 or equal to 142ppi. It’s still immersive, though, thanks to the slim bezels, and sports an IPS panel, 100% sRGB color gamut, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a maximum brightness of 300 nits.
A 1080p webcam is placed at the top bezel and features Huawei’s AI camera feature including virtual backgrounds.
It also has a fingerprint power button and backlit keyboard with 1.5mm key travel, but this one has a dedicated numeric keypad with dedicated buttons for the camera switch and AI Search key. Down below the keyboard is the touchpad.
Looking on the left, we have two USB-C ports, HDMI 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
On the right, there’s the USB-A 3.2 Gen1 and USB-A 2.0.
Towards the front are four microphones with 360-degree sound pick-up and AI noise cancellation.
Design-wise, the MateBook D 16 is not as premium as the MateBook 16s or the MateBook X Pro but it still looks good and feels sturdy. It comes in Mystic Silver
The Huawei MateBook D 16 2022 is powered by an Intel Core i5-12450H or Intel Core i7-12700H processor, Intel UHD Graphics, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 60Wh battery, and Windows 11 Home with support for Huawei Super Device.
