Without much fanfare, Apple announces the new iPhone SE 2020 which basically looks like a refresh of the iPhone 8 rather than the original iPhone SE.
The leaks were right, the new iPhone SE is based on the iPhone 8 but with a new and more powerful A13 Bionic chip. Apple also removed the iPhone 8 in its catalog so it’s just the iPhone 11 series, iPhone XR, and the iPhone SE.

The iPhone SE 2020 has a suggested retail price in the Philippines of PHP 26,490 for the 64GB, PHP 30,490 for the 128GB and PHP 36,490 for the 256GB. In contrast, the iPhone 8 64GB has a current SRP of Php30,990. The price for the iPhone SE 2020 starts at USD 399 in the United States.
The date of release in the Philippines is yet to be announced.
Disappointed but not surprised that the SRP here far exceeds the direct conversion of the US price. This phone would have been quite the steal if Apple had priced it at PhP20K here.
