Apple recently revealed its new Apple Pencil USB-C. Now, DigitTimes reports that Apple is currently working on a bigger iPad Air that will have a 12.9-inch display.
As of the moment, Apple currently only offers the iPad Air in one size that is with a 10.9″ display. Introducing a 12.9″ iPad Air would make it the largest iPad Air model to date.
They also reported that the 12.9″ iPad Air will have an LCD display rather than the mini-LED panel that’s currently seen on the 12.9″ iPad Pro, which aligns with the current iPad Air that also uses and LCD display.
This report points closer to Apple releasing a larger iPad Air as it was reported earlier that Apple was working on two iPad Air versions however the difference between both was still unclear.
Other details are still unknown as the current fifth-generation iPad Air packs in an M1 processor. Apple may launch its new sixth-generation iPad Air line with an M2 chipset.
If Apple were also to introduce a larger iPad Air, it would also align with its new strategy of giving consumer-level devices that are large without the need to shell out more money by simply purchasing Pro-level devices.
This has been most evident with the recent release of the MacBook Air 15″ and the discontinuation of the iPhone mini line with the iPhone 14 and 15 Plus now offered in its place.
