Asus Padfone 2 launch on October 16

Asus has just set the launch date of the Padfone 2 on October 16, 2012. The event will be held simultaneously in Taiwan and Italy on the same day.

We’ve previously leaked some detailed information about the hardware configuration of the Asus Padfone 2.

Here’s what we know so far.

The invite to the official announcement of the Padfone 2 shows a glimpse of the Asus smartphone which looks pretty much the same as the old one.

We update once we get more information nearing the launch date. We noted before that Asus’ original plan was to announce the Padfone 2 next year (February 2013) at the GSM World in Barcelona, Spain. This new development is a surprise which makes us wonder why.
