Huawei’s Mate 20-series devices have been on the front pages of leaks for the past weeks now. Although today, one of them just entered the limelight — the Mate 20 Lite. What does it bring to the table? Let’s find out as we check the 5 Best Features of the Huawei Mate 20 Lite.
Table of Contents
The Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes loaded with the brand’s latest mid-range AI chipset, the Kirin 710. The 12nm chip carries with it improved performance, better power efficiency, and enhanced AI capabilities over the previous Kirin 659. Not to mention, better photography thanks to independent ISP (image signal processor) and DSP (digital signal processor).
Huawei is also stepping up the selfie game of the Mate 20 Lite by giving it dual front cameras, apart from its dual rear. All four of the lenses come with AI, which includes AI beautification, scene selection, and categorization. In fact, the rear has 22 categories for photos you’ve taken.
Huawei’s own version of emojis, the feature lets you animate yourself with 3D AI-powered Qmojis. This is also the 3D emojis we first saw with the Nova series. It works similar to what we’ve seen with Apple’s Animoji and ASUS’ ZeniMoji.
The whole game of the Mate 20 Lite is to be a smarter more organized device. As such it features a number of AI-centric systems. For example, Huawei added in AI shopping and intelligent photo organization. AI shopping works by scanning or taking a photo of a product then redirecting you to a relevant Amazon (app must be installed) listing.
Huawei is also extending those AI features to connectivity and GPS. The Mate 20 Lite adjusts connectivity base on your environment. For example, elevator mode hopes to quickly recover signal and network performance once you enter or exit elevators, which are considered dead signal zones. There’s also HUAWEI GEO, the brand’s new intelligent GPS system. The system also works in lowering ambient noise in windy and loud environments for clearer voice calls.
The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is priced at £379 (SIM-free) (~Php26,244USD 447INR 37,912EUR 426CNY 3,257) and will be available in the UK starting next week via Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone. Local pricing and availability are yet to be announced. What do you think about the baby of the series? Let us know in the comments section below.
