Listen to article

MediaTek has introduced two new smartphone chips, the Dimensity 7450 and Dimensity 7450X, aimed at improving gaming, camera, and overall phone performance. The chips were listed on the company’s website and are expected to be used in upcoming smartphones, including foldable devices.

Both processors share similar features. They are built using a 4nm process and use an octa-core setup with Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores. For graphics, they use the Mali-G615 GPU. MediaTek said the chips include a new AI engine that can improve AI tasks like camera processing by up to 7 percent compared to older models.

For gaming, the chips use MediaTek HyperEngine and Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0. These help manage performance and battery use during gameplay. The chips also support Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5G speeds of up to 3.27Gbps.

On the camera side, both support up to 200MP sensors, 4K HDR video recording, and improved image processing. Display support includes up to 120Hz for higher resolution screens and up to 144Hz for Full HD+ displays.

The Dimensity 7450X is slightly different. It supports dual displays, making it more suitable for flip-style foldable phones. Reports say it may be used in the upcoming Motorola Razr 70.
