Galaxy S8 Active appears, ditches dual-curved display

The ‘Active’ variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8 has finally appeared in the wild and it somehow resembles the Galaxy S8’s nearest competition in the display department.

The photo above is the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. It may look like an LG G6 as they share a similar non-curved display. The Active still has the tall and immersive display of the regular Galaxy S8 sans the curved edges on the sides, after all, it’s what makes it fragile.

The phone will still sport the same front sensors at the top and the absence of a home button at the bottom. The power button will be on the right side while the left has the volume rocker and the dedicated Bixby button. The fingerprint scanner could be at the back just like with the Galaxy S8.

The image is from the listing of Wireless Power Consortium, so it’s safe to assume it’ll have wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is expected to be available in the U.S. exclusively on AT&T soon.
