No. LG Optimus One is not a mess. I have LG Optimus One and I feel happy with it. Ano ba ineexpect natin sa low cost phone like LG O1? Well to tell I successfully enabled to maximaize GPU or Graphics Processing Unit of O1 without overclock. And I made the UI more responsive. At first, before, I made it fast by not ab-using it. Like installing apps that O1 is not capable of. Taking care of its battery life turning WIFI and GPS when not needed and turning of 3g also. As a user I am satisfied. If you want a video, i can post it in youtube. Just ask me. Now LG O2X is probably another hit from LG many developers in XDA dev’s are already focusing on it. In the first place, if LG found out that they is something wrong with the unit, I think they will do a recall of all units if FCC or any authorities ask them to do it. I will give you a hint on android devices, I am not full android dev’s but by experience this is how I think of it… “LG or other providers are developing UIs on top of Android… However, because android is so open, you have a choice not to utilize it.” Hope it will help. Kasi masyado tayong comment ng comment pero di HTC, Samsung and SE are having the same issues on their handset. At pareng fuckLG, hindi mo ba alam na ang SE ay swapang sa updates ng firmware? for them it take months to update their firmwares… firmwares pa lang yun ha… just look what happened at SE Xperia X10. took almost a year para madevelop yung dual touch nung device… samantalang yung LG unang release pa lang eh enabled na. And up to now, sobrang bagal pa rin nila(SE) sa updates.

i got my LG 2x…. all i can say is that is not that great…

mas maganda pa ung camera quality sa n97 ko kaysa 8 mp nang lg…. this is not a good buy…..

i have to credit LG for this marketing tactic (not really a strategy). If you know kasi that your product would probably get beat up by an upcoming one by a competitor, you would have to think of the salability of your own. you could preempt the other’s launch by lowering your prices even if it has to be ridiculously low. however, since this promo is limited to 100 people (don’t know for sure but i read it sa mga posts) perhaps LG is gauging the marketability of their product via this “contest/promo” and i wont be surprised if sooner or later, they will announce a price cut for their product (still talking about optimus 2x, btw) which price cut, of course, would be for all units and not just for 100 people. how much that price cut is, if ever they are compelled to do so, would greatly be affected by the number of participants of this promo. that is why, i would respect each one’s decision whether or not they will join the promo.
something tells me though that they are eager to sell all the units they have on hand. perhaps they’re ready to release a much better model. have you guys heard of the term market skimming? it’s a marketing strategy whereby a maker or company release their products at initially high price (and very high margin, indeed) knowing that there’ll be people who will get one (especially those who are not price-sensitive) then slowly drops their prices knowing that with each drop, there’ll be additions of those who will buy hanggang umabot na sa true cost ng kanilang product until such time na they are simply selling the product to avoid storage costs. nokia very much adopted this strategy way back in late 1990s but somehow nag-iba na early in the new century. in the case of LG, if indeed they are using that strategy (di ko kasi nasundan ang pricing ng LG phones kasi di ko masyado nakikita sa amin), perhaps something disturbed their plans kaya ganito ang nangyayari. anyways, i have not tested the product so im wont comment about whether it’s nice or not or worth it or not.

Look at the bright side, Samsung and HTC may be forced to lower the prices of the Galaxy S2 and the Sensation when they come out because of LG :D
