HTC One J Butterfly announced in Japan

HTC has announced the HTC J ‘Butterfly’ phablet in Japan, its first smartphone to feature a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution.

The HTC J butterfly sheds some light to the rumors behind the 5-inch smartphone HTC was reported to be manufacturing. The phablet sports a 5-inch Super LCD3 display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which calculates to an impressive 440 ppi. Seems like an overkill since the human eye can only distinguish around 300 ppi.

Other specs include an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, 2 megapxiel front-facing camera, LTE and NFC support, 16GB of internal storage (up to 32GB via microSD) and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and 2020mAh battery. As an added treat, the HTC J butterfly has an IPX5 certification meaning its dust and water resistant.

Unfortunately, the HTC One J butterfly is exclusive to Japan but it’s good to know that such technology exists. HTC will certainly release 5-inch models for other markets soon.

so the htc one x 5 now has a name, hindi na rumored.. kaya naman pala eh.. definitely going to buy another htc for my next phone/phablet.. ^_^

I wouldn’t just take what apple says at face value Abe. Just because they say people’s eyes can’t see past 300 dpi doesn’t mean that’s necessarily the truth. Just as how their retina displays used to mean displays over 300ppi, but when it comes to their laptops, 200+ ppi screens can also be called retina. They simply adjust what they say to suit their marketing.
I’m sure if you can compare this to the retina display side by side you’d see the difference.

ligne quand ill est en fait finalement libéré .
Comme tout parent, je décide de coller mon nez
dedans et voir ce que le jeu était raiment à propos .
Les joueurs eux-mêmes doivent concevoir ce qu’ils vont
