Huawei Y9 2018 is official

Huawei has announced the 2018 version of the Huawei Y9. From the looks of it, the Huawei Y9 (2018) looks pretty much like the Nova 2i and the Nova 2 Lite.

The Huawei Y9 2018 sports the same FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio in a 5.93-inch IPS panel with full HD+ or 1080×2160-pixel resolution.

The phone is powered by the same HiSilicon Kirin 659 but with a slightly conservative internals (3GB RAM and 32GB storage). It’s got Android 8.0 Oreo and a huge 4,000mAh battery too.

The dual camera system at the back is a pair of 16MP+2MP while the dual front-facing camera is 13MP+2PM, the 2MP cameras mainly doing depth-sensing.

Huawei Y9 (2018) specs:
5.93-inch Full HD+ IPS 18:9 display @ 1080×2160 pixels, 269ppi
HiSilicon Kirin 659 2.36GHz octa-core processor
4 x 2.36GHz ARM Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.4GHz ARM Cortex A53
32GB internal storage
expandable via microSD up to 256GB (uses SIM2)
16MP+2MP rear cameras, f/2.2 with LED Flash
13MP+2MP front cameras, f/2.0
Hybrid Dual-SIM (nano+nano/microSD)
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.2
GPS with aGPS support, GLONASS

4,000mAh Li-Ion battery
Android 8.0 Oreo

Color options are similar to the Nova 2i — black, gold and blue.

We’re not sure if the Huawei Y9 2018 will eventually be released in the Philippines because it’s pretty close to the Nova 2 Lite. We’ll post an update once we get firm details.
