If you’re still deciding whether to get the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the HTC One then you might want to wait for LG’s upcoming launch as it is all pointing to its next flagship, the Optimus G2.
LG’s invite came with a message saying “Great 2 Have You!” with an emphasis on the letter G and the number 2. It is followed by the place where the event will happen which is in New York City and the date which is on August 7, 2013. Android Central also mentioned that the kit they received were covered with Gs and the 2s as well so it can only point to one thing.
Recent rumors about the Optimus G2’s specs include a 5.2-inch IPS display with full HD resolution or 424ppi, a 13 megapixel camera, 3GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 CPU coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU. We also featured late last month about the leaked slides from @evleaks showing the device sporting a multi-functional volume rocker placed under the camera.
Some of the specs mentioned are yet to confirmed but one thing’s for sure, the Optimus G2 is going to be a beast. The event is just less than a month from now so we just have to wait a little more and see if LG can blow the S4 and the One out of the water.
