A few days ago, HMD Global has officially revealed its first Android-powered smartphone — the Nokia 6. People have both been excited and disappointed at the same time since it packs decent specs although it will only be available in China (initially, we hope). Nevertheless, the company has just announced that it is now up for reservation in time for its January 19 release.

Nokia 6 specs:
5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display
2.5D contoured glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection
64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core CPU
Adreno 505 GPU
4GB RAM
64GB internal storage
up to 128GB via microSD
16MP rear camera w/ Laser AF, PDAF, Dual-tone flash
8MP front-facing camera
4G LTE
Fingerprint scanner
USB OTG
3000mAh battery with fast charging
Android 7.0 Nougat
154 x 75.8 x 7.85 mm
The reservation only requires CNY66 as a deposit to secure a handset when it rolls out. It will be available through China’s online retailer JD.com for CNY1,699 in case you know someone from China and want to be one of the firsts to get a hold of it.
On a separate post, Nokia Mobile says that there will be “more announcements” on February 26 which is the start of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Fingers crossed for an international variant of the Nokia 6 or something similar.
