NTC: more than 17 million SIM Cards registered as of Jan 11

The Department Of Information And Communications Technology (DICT) and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) have just announced that more than 17 million SIM Cards have now been registered, in compliance with the SIM Registration Act.

Approximately, there have now been 17,698,340 registered SIMs as of January 11, 2023, according to the NTC’s latest records.

Of the three major telcos undergoing sim registration, Smart Communications Inc. has reported the most amount of registered SIMS at 8,367,752, which is 12.31% of its 67,995,734 subscribers. Meanwhile, Globe Telecom Inc. follows suit with 7,764,786 SIMs registered — 8.84% of its 87,873,936 subscribers.

Lastly, DITO Telecommunity Corp. recorded a total of 1,565,802 SIMs registered, or 11.95% of its 13,108,103 subscribers.
