OnePlus 6 Red color variant announced

OnePlus has announced a new red variant of the OnePlus 6 smartphone, and it’s touted to be the company’s most luxurious color yet.

The said device initially has three color variants namely Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and Silk White (limited edition) but today, the company’s CEO announced the red color variant for their latest flagship device. Due to the popularity of the Lava Red edition of the predecessor OnePlus 5T, the company decided to throw a red variant that’s said to have a clear quality similar to that of a red amber, but possess “an enduring appeal that will last for years to come.”

This new red finish is said to be achieved by using a new film coating process by applying an evaporated layer of brightening film, resulting in the clear, glossy look and feel this variant has.

Aside from that, most of the specifications remained the same. The OnePlus 6 Red retains the same 6.28-inch Full Optic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 845 processor, 16MP + 20MP rear cameras, 16MP front camera, and 3,300mAh battery. The only difference is that this variant will only be available for the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage setup.

The One Plus 6 red variant will maintain the same price tag as with the other 8GB/128GB models, so expect this to arrive at a USD579PHP 33,979INR 49,070EUR 551CNY 4,214 (~Php31,000USD 528INR 44,783EUR 503CNY 3,847) price tag in the US starting July 10. No word yet if this will arrive by the same date in the Philippines, nor Digital Walker will offer the same Php33,990USD 579INR 49,102EUR 552CNY 4,218 SRP it offers with the other models.
