OnePlus announces further integration with OPPO

In a forum post, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has announced that the OnePlus organization will further integrate with OPPO.

Pete Lau explained that OnePlus has already integrated a number of its teams together with OPPO when he took the role of Senior VP for OPLUS last year. OPLUS is a holding company that oversees OPPO, OnePlus, and realme.

Because of the integration, the two companies were able to streamline their operations and capitalize on additional shared resources. Seeing the positive impact, OnePlus decided to further integrate itself with OPPO.

“I’m confident that this change will be positive for our community and our users. With this deeper integration with OPPO, we will have more resources at hand to create even better products for you. It will also allow us to be more efficient, for example, bringing faster and more stable software updates for OnePlus users,” said Lau.

The OnePlus brand, however, will continue to operate independently and will continue launching its own products. It will still continue to engage directly with fans for feedback through the usual OnePlus channels.

“OnePlus’ commitment to you remains the same,” added Lau.
