They need to hamper Xiaomi’s growth in India because once Xiaomi maintains the lead in India i will be like a virus infecting its neighboring countries.

What do you mean? Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo are the big four china brands. Vivo and Oppo are owned by BBK Electronics, as well as OnePlus. It is difficult to counter a brand that offers value for money, when you are not offering the same. Which is going to be really difficult in the first place, if you began spending so much in marketing and advertising. Getting celebrity endorsers etc. Of course these will not come cheap, which is why they are unable to compete with pricing.

Xiaomi is actually not targeting Oppo and Vivo anymore since their footprint in India is too small. It is actually competing with Samsung, which has been in India far too longer than Xiaomi’s domestic rivals. To actually go toe to toe with a brand like Samsung, even toppling them is trully a caveat, one that Oppo and Vivo would want to do as well.

Yeah, when Xiaomi didnt have a store here yet this was killing ground for Oppo and Vivo, now that they are back they are already threatened, as reports I’ve heard, they still dont have a solution to the Xiaomi problem.

From 7.4 per cent a year ago, Xiaomi today has a share of 23.5 per cent, according to IDC, competing head-on with rival and traditional leader Samsung. Oppo and Vivo, on the other hand, have remained in the 7-10 per cent bracket in the past one year, with the September 2017 quarter being the only exception when Vivo’s share touched 13 per cent.

Compared to the f7 128gb, this basically has downgraded cameras at half the price. Oppo has been selling phones at premium prices mainly for cameras. With Xiaomi more active now, Oppo has to be more price competitive.

Compared to the f7 128gb, this mainly has downgraded cameras at half the price. Oppo has been selling phones at premium prices based mainly on cameras. Now that Xiaomi is more active they can no longer continue to do so. This will practically kill the f7, unless they also lower its price.
