Summary of advantages:

Galaxy S10+

  • Screen protection with Gorilla Glass 6
  • 3.5mm audio port
  • Punch-hole camera
  • Biometrics

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

  • Larger storage (non-LE)
  • Cameras
  • IP68 resistance
  • Slightly larger battery capacity

The Galaxy S10+ and the Mate 20 Pro measure almost the same screen size and also have the same resolution. The S20+ has done away with the notch, sporting slim bezels all over and a punch-hole camera while the Mate 20 Pro has a pretty thick notch situated at the top of its display. With the S10+, we get pretty much a full-screen display because of the Infinity O display, compared to the Mate 20 Pro. Also, do take note that the Mate 20 Pro’s front display has slightly curved sides. Huawei doesn’t mention any type of screen protection for the Mate 20 Pro, so the S10+ wins that aspect as its equipped with Gorilla Glass 6.

Both smartphones offer 6GB and 8GB of RAM, however, the S10+ has a limited edition that comes with 12GB of RAM instead. As for the storage, they both offer a starting of 128GB, with the Mate 20 Pro offering a 256GB variant. The S10+ offers a 512GB as its second variant and a whopping 1TB for the limited edition. The S10+ easily blows the Mate 20 Pro out of the running for this one.

Taking a look at their chipsets, the S10+’s Exynos 9820 clocked in with an incredible performance in benchmarks, with the Mate 20 Pro’s Kirin 980 trailing behind it. There’s no doubt that the S10+ wins this one.

For the rear cameras, both smartphones offer wide-angle, ultra wide-angle, and telephoto lens. The S10+’s 12MP lenses both have optical image stabilization but with the Mate 20 Pro, only the telephoto lens has it. As for the image quality, the S10+ produced photos with rich colors and fine details. The Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, produced quality shots too, with pleasant colors even in low light.

When it comes to selfies, the Mate 20 Pro edges out slightly in terms of its 24MP sensor and 3D depth sensor, as the S10+ has 10MP one. What S10+ does have though, is Dual Pixel AF and an extra camera sensor for depth.

Both the Mate 20 Pro and S10+ have wireless charging support and wireless powershare. Capacity-wise, they’re pretty much on an equal level, with the Mate 20 Pro sporting 4,200mAh and the S10+ carrying a 4,100mAh battery.

All in all, both smartphones are pretty much top-notch, considering their promising specs. Which one’s the better smartphone for you guys? Let us know!

The Huawei mate 20 pro would definitely beat the Samsung de ices when it comes to fast charging. I don’t see a phone out there yet that can beat the charging time that huawei provides
