Smartphones with 5G connectivity

5G is the future of mobile connectivity. Telecommunications companies have already introduced their 5G networks, and smartphone brands have released some of their early devices that support it. If you’re wondering what they are, we’ve listed them down below.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G was announced alongside the other Galaxy S10 series in February. It is based on the S10 but with support for 5G connectivity, has a larger screen, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It launched in South Korea on April 5, 2019.

LG V50 ThinQ 5G

The V50 ThinQ 5G was also unveiled in February and is, in a way, just a V40 ThinQ with updated hardware and new accessories like the second screen that can be attached to the phone for additional functions.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G

Also announced in February, the Mi Mix 3 5G, as the name suggests, it is a Mix 3 but with an updated chipset to support 5G connectivity and improved battery.

Huawei Mate X

Huawei Mate 20 X 5G

The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G is the 5G-capable model of the Mate 20 X and takes advantage of the HiSilicon Balong 5G modem. The specs are the same as the original Mate 20 X except for the battery which was reduced to 4,200mAh from 5,000mAh.

OPPO Reno 5G

The OPPO Reno 5G is the latest addition to the new Reno smartphone lineup. It launched just this month in Europe and is based on the Reno 10X Zoom with a Snapdragon 855 chip and triple rear cameras, but only offered in an 8GB + 256GB model.

ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G

Announced in February, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is also powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset. It sports a 6.47-inch AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and has a fingerprint reader under the display.

Samsung Galaxy Fold

First introduced by Samsung in its Galaxy Unpacked event last February, the Galaxy Fold features a 4.6-inch display when folded and transforms into a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex display. It’s been demonstrated that it can run three apps simultaneously and has seamless app continuity. Running under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
