Sony announces Xperia Miro & Xperia Tipo

Sony is coming out in full force with their Xperia line of smartphones with the addition of two new recruits to their ranks — the Xperia Miro and Xperia Tipo.

For starters, these two chic smartphones have Android Ice Cream Sandwich, deep Facebook integration, 800 MHz processor and carries a lot of juice with 1500 mAh batteries.

The Miro packs more flair with “colorful illuminations” that lights up whenever you get messages or social network updates. You’ll be able to choose your favorite color for your incoming alerts. Blue is for Facebook, right? It also has a 3.5 inch display and a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash.

Check out the Miro specs below:

3.5 inch HVGA scratch-resistant display
Accelerometer, proximity sensor, magnetometer
Deep Facebook integration
Sony xLOUD audio technology

3.5mm headset jack
FM Radio with RDS

4GB of internal memory (2.2GB user accessible)
microSD card support, up to 32GB
Li-Ion 1500mAh battery “with > 24hrs usage time”
110 grams

The Tipo, on the other hand, has two editions. The other one has dual-sim capabilities, called Tipo Dual, but has the same specs like its regular brother. The Tipo brothers are a bit less endowed compared to the Miro – 3.2 inch displays and a 3.2 megapixel cameras without flash.

Take a look at the Tipo specs below:

  2. Noir says:

At least it looks like Sony learned to always put a SD Card slot on it’s devices as well as put larger(standard) battery size.

  3. Zo says:

glad to see sony being very aggressive.

I’d like to check the Miro out as my back up unit. Hoping the price won’t disappoint :)

  4. benchmark says:

Wow, the Miro has almost the same specs of the Motorola Fire XT which is just 6k (less the prxomity and ICS).

Well I just hope it cost the same, but I doubt that, probably it will cost a little bit higher.

By the way if somebody would ask me where I bought the Moto Fire, at SM Megamall Cyberzone, near CD-r King, they have the Motorola kiosk there.

Aw, an 800mhz processor? I could assume that these would be on a sub-10k price tag… But if in case it is, then they’ll be a couple of really good-looking Xperias, IMO… Would be a nice secondary mobile…

  6. Totem says:

Compromised na naman yung specs.. Ayos na sana yung dual-sim kaso 3.2″ screen tapos no LED flash? >_<

Sana may manufacturer na makaisip magproduce ng ganitong phone..

4.0" capacitive screen, 480×854 screen resolution
    Android 4.0 ICS
    1.0 GHz processor
    dual-sim capability
5 MP camera with LED flash
    VGA front-facing cam
tapos usual connectivity nalang like Bluetooth 2.0, wi-fi b/g/n, USB 2.0

Iprice nila below 10k.. For sure madami bibili niyan.. XD

  7. Mr. Curious says:

  14. dice says:

    i wanna buy miro for 10k =D

  15. Ricardo says:

if you know widgetcity, their prices are 10,150 for xperia miro, and 7,750 for tipo, both has the 1 year warranty of sony ph. but for me it’s a little bit high for it’s specs.

  16. Marco says:

Xperia Miro and Tipo, undoubtedly entry-level handsets from Sony, is expected to be priced lower than the mid-range Xperia units (i.e., U, Sola, Neo L, and Go). Miro can get a fair market share of LG Optimus L5, Tipo Dual on either Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and LG Optimus L3 E405 Dual, and Tipo heads on (ageing) Galaxy Y and Optimus L3 E400. I’m sure everyone in these price segments are excited to know the official price tags.

  18. Agnes James says:

Tipo, Sony’s first entry-level price category Smartphone under the Xperia brand. Committed to the Cell phone market, Tipo has been designed for selective markets. The Xperia Tipo has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800MHz processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system and a 3.2-inch display, 1500mAh battery & many more featured & compared with One of Sony & HTC model at http://howmobile.net/sony-ericsson/2461-sony-xperia-tipo.html. Tipo looks amazing in Blue & Silver, why I am saying this coz I do have the Blue One. I love Sony for its Camera & Sound quality and I believe you guys would also like it for the same.
