Sony announces Xperia X Series of smartphones

Sony has officially announced it’s latest family of Xperia smartphones – the Xperia X Series consisting of the Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, and Xperia XA.

Starting with the Xperia X, it features a 5-inch Full HD Triluminos display, 23 megapixel rear camera with Predictive Hybrid AF, 13MP front camera. 32GB/64GB internal storage with microSD card support. Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and a 2,620mAh battery with Adaptive Charging Technology for better power management.

Next is the Xperia X Performance which is the beefed up version of the Xperia X. It also sports a 5-inch Full HD Triluminos display, 23 megapixel rear camera with Predictive Hybrid AF, 13MP front camera amd 32GB storage with support for microSD cards.Running under the hood is a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, Android Marshmallow, and a slightly larger 2,700mAh battery with Adaptive Charging Technology.

Lastly, is the Sony Xperia XA which the company tagged as a mid-ranger. It has a 5-inch HD display, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and 16GB of internal storage with microSD card support. Powering it is a MediaTek MT6755 processor, 2GB RAM, Android Marshmallow and 2,300mAh battery.

The Xperia X Series is expected to arrive in Summer 2016 and will come in four finishes: White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold, and Rose Gold. Pricing is TBA.
