Android One isn’t dead — not yet. General Mobile, a Turkish phone manufacturer, has just announced a new model for its Android One lineup at the Mobile World Congress 2017.

The General Mobile GM6 is the newest Android One device of the OEM and so far in the world. The update included in the GM6 is the fingerprint scanner upfront. The rest of the specs are pretty respectable for a budget phone with a promising software that is pure Android Nougat.

If you’ve following the Android One saga in the country, local brands haven’t brought any new device but the latest to be available is the G1 of Cherry Mobile and its OEM is also General Mobile. We already reached to Cherry Mobile if they’ll be bringing this soon.

Sana maglabas ang cherry mobile or myphone ng GM6, i like the function of an Android One handsets, its very responsive, like my Cherry mobile One.

hindi dinala ng cherry mobile yung GM5 (720p screen, snapdragon 410, 2GB ram, 16GB storage, 2500mah battery, factory-installed nougat 7.0) at GM5 plus (fhd screen, snapdragon 617, 3GB ram, 32GB storage, gorilla glass 4, 3100mah battery, factory-installed marshmallow 6.0.1)

more or less, GM5 is similar cherry mobile G1. afaik, difference only in factory-installed OS.

if cherry mobile will bring back android one (mid-range, SD430/SD625), then it can compete with relatively higher-priced nokia (stock android 7 out of the box).

in the long run, i think competition will be three or four way race among android stock-powered android one and nokia, high battery capacity zenfone max 3 5.5, and the selfie phones (oppo?) in the interesting sub-10000php market.
