Research on this phone shows that it supports USB OTG, so 16 GB onboard memory isn’t bad…

You can get a OTG adapter from CDR King and stick in your favorite flash drive… and you got more memory…

or

you can get any of those new 2 in one flash drives with OTG support….

this is really awesome. competition is indeed great for the consumers. now, i am sure that other players are scrambling for their next move once this device will be made available in a national scale. i just hope that their after-sales service will be great as well. =)

They’re scrambling to get more por kilo gadgets para mapasa na nila ng tatlo-sampu sa mga tao at mas dumami ang nakapila sa repair centers.

Tingin nyo magkakaron to ng custom ROMs? Di ko trip yung skin ng Mi 3. If only this came with stock android (or atleast with minimal customizations. But either way, this is a steal. 11k for a 1080p snapdragon 800 device? GGWP cherry mobile and myphone.

kuya..kaya nga po naka MIUI rom po eh.. kasi di na stock na os nya…hehe…google mo po anong ibig sabihin nang MIUI

Based on their website, marami silang alternative skins bukod sa out of the box default. Compatible naman siguro yan sa third party roms If you don’t like the MIUI skin.

It just confounds me how people can still gripe about the 16GB storage and no LTE @ 10,599. Really? With that kind of specs and native MIUI UI no less, this is not a bargain but a steal. so shut up and take my money! ^_^

To be honest, I don’t have 11k to buy this phone, yet I’m waiting for the Xiaomi Hongmi which is price around 6000 pesos when converted from dollars. If they did price this one at 11k compared to 13-14k before when it 1st release on Lazada.. my finger is crossed to price Hongmi at around 4k.

Magdilang anghel ka sana sa price dahil yung hongmi 1s din ang quality tester ko bago ako bumili ng mi3. Pero kung ok ang redmi 1s e baka di na rin ako mag mi3 at hintayin ko na lang yung tv nila =)

It will depend on the sales/after of this new player. For now they still control the “mass” market..

As per GSMArena there is no SD card slot, is this confirmed?

Sayang naman. Almost the same specs as galaxy S5 pero walang SD card slot.

Baka naman lalagyan na nila ng sd slot sa mi3s. Wag lang silang susunod sa pinapauso ng LG na 2k display dahil malaki ang dagdag noon sa presyo at macocompromise ang 3kmAh battery life.

Xiaomi doing e-commerce the right way. No expensive marketing hype means lesser mark ups, just pure gadget selling. All they have to do is maintain their quality and they can say boom panes to samsung and to the locally branded competitors. Redmi 1s price na lang talaga ang iniintay ng karamihan.
