Here are the advantages of each smartphone:

- Higher main rear camera resolution
- Higher front camera resolution
- Bluetooth 5.0
- Quick Charge support
- Larger screen size
- Higher screen resolution
- Better performing CPU (based on maximum clock speed)
It’s a huge disappointment that the Mi A3 only comes with an HD+ display. For a mid-range smartphone, the device should at least have FHD+ as a standard. In terms of the viewing experience, Despite the former’s Gorilla Glass 5, the Y9 Prime 2019 takes the cake given that it has a larger size and higher resolution.
In terms of performance, we can’t determine yet which one has the upper hand; however, it’s sure that the Y9 Prime 2019 is faster in terms of CPU performance based on clock speed. What I’m excited to know, though, is its gaming performance. We’ll know more once we get our hands on the devices.
For the cameras, the Mi A3 and Y9 Prime 2019 are almost the same resolutions for the ultra-wide and depth sensors. However, the former comes with a higher main sensor resolution. The Mi A3 also has the same advantage when it comes to the selfie cameras. In terms of quality, we’ll know once we have both devices for review.
In terms of battery capacity, both devices are on par as they have almost the same battery capacity with the Mi A3 having a small 30mAh advantage but with a fast-charging capability.
Here are the prices of each smartphone:
- Xiaomi Mi A3 4GB + 64GB – EUR 249 (~PHP 14,270)
- Xiaomi Mi A3 4GB + 128GB – EUR 279 (~PHP 15,989)
- Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 4GB +128GB – PHP 12,990
Overall, if you are fond of watching movies or videos while enjoying a faster CPU clock speed, and a pop-up selfie camera, go for the Y9 Prime 2019. If you’re aiming for that higher camera resolution with an updated Bluetooth version, under-display fingerprint scanner, and Stock Android experience, go for the Mi A3.
