Acer is branching out into wearable technology with two new pairs of smart glasses, the AR Vision GR0 and the GI0 AI glasses. While they are both wearable tech, they target completely different uses. One focuses entirely on giving you a massive personal screen, while the other acts as a lightweight, screen-free assistant for your everyday life.
The Acer AR Vision GR0 is a pair of augmented reality glasses designed to act as a portable display. By plugging them into a smartphone, laptop, or gaming console with a cable, the dual micro OLED screens give the illusion of watching a massive 172-inch display from a few meters away.

The glasses handle both standard 2D and 3D media, making them a solid option for “private public” (watching things privately in public) viewing or gaming on the move. Because they rely on your phone or laptop for power and processing, the glasses stay incredibly light at just 69 grams – and they include built-in open-ear speakers near your ears for natural stereo sound. Currently, they are compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows.

In contrast, the Acer GI0 takes a completely wireless approach by ditching the display entirely. These look much closer to regular eyeglasses and focus heavily on voice and camera features. They use an on-board camera and microphone to connect with an AI assistant powered by Google Gemini through a companion app on your phone.

This gives you access to real-time translations and descriptions of what you are looking at. The glasses connect to your phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, making them a handy travel tool for quick, hands-free tasks.

On top of that, they can be used for hands-free POV photo and video recording, while a voice recorder function can also create minutes of the meeting.

The Acer GI0 operates in conjunction with the Acer AspireSync companion app on a paired device, supporting both Android and iOS. Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, enabling a reliable wireless link to a mobile device.
